Instant Adwords Profits Boosters

Google Adwords and Pay per Click is a GREAT
way to get targetted traffic fast.

BUT…

Here’s what you don’t hear of from those
‘Guru’s flogging their Adwords courses

With Pay Per Click you CAN’T set it and forget
it for auto-pilot profits.

The truth is you will need to spend some time
setting up properly in the beginning, tracking
stuff, plus testing and tweaking as you go along.

Testing and tracking may not sound ’sexy’
but it’s where the money is!

This is especially true where you are
paying for any type of advertising…

…because at it’s most basic level
you’ll need to know your overall
profit for a particular ad.

But when it comes to Pay Per Click
advertising you need to go even deeper…

And if you apply this to any campaigns you
already have going, you could instantly
get more profit with LESS traffic.

I want you tom pay attention to two
things:

1) Tracking Right Down To The
Keyword Level

2) Click Through Rates Of Your
Landing Pages

Let’s look at each:

1) Tracking Each keyword

When it comes to Pay Per Click advertising
you should treat each keyword that you bid on
as an individual business.

If you have campaigns which are profitable
and you are only looking to see if the campaign
as a whole is in profit…

…then you are probably leaving good
money on the table.

This is because you probably have
some keywords which are making most
of your money and a bunch of others
which are costing you money…

AKA – NOT profitable!

Once you have this data you can really ramp up
the profitable keywords and either dump or
try to optimize the unprofitable ones.

It’s a simple cocept right – just illiminate
the unprofitable keywords and you’ve instantly
boosted your profits.

But it’s amazing how many people just do not
go to the bother of tracking and tweaking
like this.

EXTRA TIP

With Adwords, when you identify an unprofitable
keyword stick it back in your campaign as a
negative keyword so your ads will never show up
for it.

HOW TO DO IT IF YOU ARE SELLING YOUR
OWN PRODUCT

Of course you can only know which individual
keywords are profitable or not if you are
tracking right to the keyword level.

Now if you are selling your own product
you can easily do this with Googles
conversion tracking if you are using Adwords.

With this you set it up and just have to stick
a bit of code on the page your customers
go to after they order.

HOW TO DO IT IF YOU ARE AN AFFILIATE

If you are able to use a tracking id
in your affiliate link then you could
do it manually by using one for each
keyword you bid on.

This is not very practical if you have
a ton of keywords as it means you would
need a seperate landing page for each one
so you can put your tracking id’s
in the link in each page!

The good news is there are a couple
of software solutions available
which will track what keywords
are responsible for your affiliate
sales.

The first one is Xtreme Conversions

I can tell you I have used this and it
works great.

To see how it works go here for the details:

http://www.davegaleonline.com/xtreme.html

Here’s another one – Affiliate Prophet

It looks like it could be a bit better
but although I have heard it’s great I
haven’t actually used it myself.

You can check it out here:

2) TRACKING LANDING PAGES

Hardly anyone ever talks about this, but have
you ever considered tracking how effective
your landing pages are?

You see when it comes to Adwords all you hear
about is the CTR (Click Through Rate) of
your ad.

In other words how many people who see your
ad divided by the number of people who
actually click on it.

But what about your landing pages?

A landing page is just the web page where
people go to after they click on your
Google ad.

I say you should also track how many
people actually click on your affiliate
links
or links that go to your sales page
if you are selling your own stuff.

Why?

This will tell you how good a job your
landing page does of  getting people
to click on those all important links!

For example you may have a presell or review
page. But if hardly anyone who goes there
clicks on your affiliate links then
you won’t make much money.

Without knowing this data you could
mistakenly think that whatever product
you are selling isn’t converting…

But it could be that your landing page
is doing a BAD job of getting people
to click on your links in the first place.

And if this is the case then you know
to try to improve your landing page
before testing a different offer.

HOW TO DO IT

There are plenty of ad and link trackers
to choose from.

A good free one I’ve started using is
BudURL:

http://budurl.com

With a free account you track how many
people click on specific links.

If you are using or are going to be using Adwords
or other Pay Per Click advertising then plan
to track test and tweak.

If you are not willing to do this then go find
a different way to get traffic.  And that’s fine
of course.

Some people just don’t have the patience to
track and test this stuff, but it’s essential
for Adwords if you want to make the best
R.O.I for your advertising dollars!

The BEST Way To Make Money Online

This post although simple could prove
very powerful for you and get you
where you want to be with your
online business a whole lot quicker

Or at least it should get you off to
a flying start and save you a bunch
of money
!

I often get asked what’s the BEST
way to make money online?

To me that’s the wrong question as
there are a lot of ways to do it
which work.

I say the question should be:

“What’s the best way for YOU
to make money online?”

Because of course everyone is different
and each individual will have different
goals.

So start by looking at what you want
to achieve both NOW and long-term as
well as the amount of time/money
you are willing to invest.

For example if you want to make
$1 Million and you only want
to treat your online ventures
as a hobby or are only willing
to put time in just when you
feel like it…

… It ain’t gonna happen!

As I said there are many different
ways to make money online and there
are so many different systems and
programs you can run with.

——————-
The key is to FOCUS
——————-

Here are 3 steps to get you
focused and get results:

1) Decide what you want out of your
business…

Is it make a little extra each month or
to build a 7 figure operation?

2) Decide on ONE program or business model
that fits in with your goals for the
business and stick with it.

It may seem simple but so many people just
float from one system or program to the
next without giving any enough time
to work for them.

This ends up in disappointment and frustation
with a lack of results as well as wasted time
and money.

————-
EMAIL MADNESS!
————-

This is a trap all too easy to fall into
with all the  continuous offers bombarding
our inboxes.

Here’s how deal with it:

No matter what offer is being
sold and how good it may sound
ask yourself this:

1) Will this help me move forward
and progress with my chosen
model and goals for my business?

If the answer is YES then by all
means look into it.

If the answer is NO delte the email
immediately and pay it no more
attention.

————————
WHERE THE BIG MONEY IS AT
————————

For me the big money is in two
things, both are an assett:

1) Building Your Own List

2) Selling Your Own products

Now if you are starting out I would
advise that you start with affiliate
marketing before moving onto your
own products.

This will allow you to get some marketing
experience and make money straight away.

And of course you should be building a
list as you go, then when you have your
own product you can immeditely promote
it to your list.

HINT: If you ask them what there biggest
problems are first you will know what
products to create!

Even if you don’t want to create your own
products you can and should be building
a list with affiliate marketing.

That way you are leveraging your efforts
and building an asset that you can profit
from over and over again.

To your success!

Dave.

Online Marketing QnA Part 1

q&a This week I have answered internet marketing questions
that I have got from some readers…

Today we cover blogging

Enjoy!

Let’s get started:

Question From Tony

“You mention that ‘a backlink is just a link on someone else’s website that
points to my website’.

Would the definition of a website include a published article on
ezinearticles that points to a blogger blog – that in turn points to a
Clickbank product?

Your comments would be appreciated.

My Answer:

Tony, thank you for your question.

Yes, when you submit an article to a site like ezinearticles.com you can
use the resource box at the end of the article to link back to your site
or blog.

You can use this to get backlinks to whatever site you want to rank for,
including your blogger blog.

***

Question from Gardner Daugherty:

I would like some advice on using a blog to promote a product I’m marketing
as an affiliate.

Primarily, I’m wanting to know if I should set-up a blog about the product
I’m promoting, and if so how important is it to keep fresh content on the blog?

Or do I set-up a blog about something un-related to the product I’m promoting,
and just put a link to the product site I’m promoting at the bottom of the blog?

It seems to me that it would be pretty difficult to keep fresh content about
one product.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Gardner Daugherty

My Answer:

That’s a great question Gardner

There are two ways to do it.

Primarily you can find a niche market that already has products selling well
that you could also promote.

Then you can create a blog around that niche and promote affiliate offers
directly on the blog or funnel people from the blog to a review or presell
page for the affiliate product.

As for promoting the affiliate product or linking to a review page etc. you
can use the blogs sidebar, a link or image at the end of each post and even
a banner at the top of the blog.

But you can also create a blog around a specific product.

It would only be worth it if the product is already selling well and there is
some decent traffic related to the name of the product.

If so this can work really well.

If it is a Clickbank product then you  can use Clickbanks marketplace to
determine how well it’s selling.

As for traffic you can use Googles free keyword tool and plug in the exact
product name in the keyword section and see what comes up.

If there is decent traffic with not too much competition then you can create a
blog based around the product name.

Take into account various results that come up based around the name and not
just around the exact name though.

For example you may find searches for:

‘product name + review’
‘buy product name’
‘author name product name’
‘product name by author name’ etc.

So take into account all of these related search results when checking for
the level of traffic.

I would go for ‘product name review’ and try to get that in the domain name
and funnel traffic to a review page.

You can make general posts about the niche as well as articles on the
products creator and any past products if any.

Also if you can offer your own related bonus this will often
increase your commissions.
